Catherine LaFlamme and I (Rachel Cutler) met up at Rainbow Center 20 years after we became best friends there to take our graduation photos.
Cat and I met at Rainbow when we were 3 years old and even though she moved to Erie for elementary school we stayed best friends.
Just last week I graduated from Northern Arizona University and she graduated from Denver Metro and we are closer than ever!
We wanted to thank you for making this friendship possible and send you some of our graduation photos!
Sincerely,
Rachel Cutler
P.S. The playground looks awesome!
Rainbow is such an asset to the community. From day one, I have been blown away by the superior level of patience, caring, and commitment from everyone there. Each and every teacher makes my daughter feel welcome and special, and she has so much fun! My older kids always ask why they didn’t get to attend Rainbow. Ah, if I had only known then what I know now!

Everyday I drop my four year old daughter off, I leave with complete confidence that she is in the perfect place to support her social, emotional and cognitive growth and development. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a more attentive and caring group of teachers. They are always mixing it up with a cool array of learning activities that are lively, interesting, and at times, even magical. I'm always so impressed to see what the children are working on. I can tell that my daughter LOVES going to school, and the other week even asked if she can go in on Saturday to finish making her rocket ship for the solar system unit. The children also just started swim lessons every Tuesday too, which I am thrilled about. In addition, there is lots of time for free and creative play; and the environment, indoor with all of its various nooks, and outdoor, with the tree houses and fairy gardens, is absolutely darling. The school has a home-like quality and feel that I think is rare to find. I’ve been working in education for almost 20 years, and cannot recommend Rainbow enough for your child and family.

I’m not sure if I can put into words how thrilled we are with Rainbow but I will try. After feeling as if our son had “out grown” his last preschool, we looked into several preschools in South Boulder and really now feel as if Rainbow is the perfect fit for our son and must be the best kept secret out there! Our son loves it and so do we! Our son is very bright, creative, and has a ton of energy. Rainbow meets all of his needs and I always feel he is being challenged to learn and grow every day within the programming of the school. He is happy everyday and on many days he doesn’t want to leave when we come to pick him up. Rainbow’s curriculum focuses on the whole child and covers all that you would want a preschool to cover including social skills, kindergarten preparation, creativity, nature (including planting their own garden), Spanish, music and student driven activities. All of the teachers are amazing and I mean “all”. They are skilled, dedicated, caring individuals and I always get the feeling that all of them know my son very well and truly care about him. I also have to mention that they have their own kitchen and prepare all snacks and lunch which is such load off our shoulders to not have to prepare my son’s lunch every morning. Before deciding on Rainbow, another parent told me that Kindergarten is somewhat of a disappointment after Rainbow and now I totally understand what she meant! We are very thankful to have found Rainbow and will be very sad when the day comes for our son to move on the Kindergarten.

Our daughter has spent more than two years at Rainbow and we’ve loved every part of the experience. All of the teachers are incredibly caring, loving and wonderfully creative. We’re always impressed with the clever projects and lesson plans they develop. Our daughter has learned so much, gained so much confidence, and most importantly, she has been given the chance to grow, learn, play and explore on her own and with her Rainbow friends. Rainbow is truly an amazing and nurturing environment for children, and we will miss it—and everyone there—when our daughter leaves to go to kindergarten.

Our eldest attended Rainbow and absolutely loved it! We were so impressed with the small group activities he did with his teacher. They really captured his imagination and inspired him to experiment further at home. Of all the schools we toured we were most impressed by Rainbow's space. The kids have room to run and play large games inside when the weather is bad. The outdoor space is like no other I have seen. No standard play-set at Rainbow! My son still loves to come with me to pick up his sister so he can play in the playground. My daughter now attends and loves the arts and crafts room and the reading room. There is something for every kind of child at Rainbow. Best of all are the teachers. Most of them have been there for years. Both my kids adore all of them. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to "school" for our children. We love Rainbow!

BEST DAYCARE EVER. Can't say enough about how fantastic this school is. Creative, loving, child-oriented, and flexible. My older kids always wish they could go back, made them think of school as a place where wonderful things could be learned (and they learned TONS) and new things tried and close friends discovered. Just an example, when my daughter started at age 2 1/2, in the first week she had picked beets from the garden and helped prepare them to eat, learned a couple new songs, and explored all sorts of activities and books. Decorations around the school by kids and staff.

My son, Rowan, started Rainbow last October after we moved back to Colorado and I cannot begin to express my appreciation for this exceptional program and its wonderful teachers. From our very first visit we were amazed by what we saw. Rainbow is nestled on the side of a hill and walking down to the center is like entering a magical wonderland complete with a pirate ship and tree house. There are large spaces indoors and out where the kiddos can explore all different kinds of activities and play, and everywhere you look you see something fun, creative, beautiful, or educational. Multiple fun activity stations are set up throughout the different rooms every morning when the kids arrive (I’m always impressed by the variety), and there is a daily schedule which includes both structured activities and free play – every day includes activities such as making art, singing songs, having circle time, reading books, doing educational activities, and so much more. The teachers at Rainbow clearly love what they do, and I have so much gratitude for the individualized care and attention they have shown to my son, appreciating his gifts, and also helping him learn and grow, for example by supporting him patiently and compassionately to learn how to handle his frustration more constructively (something he has struggled with). I feel so fortunate that we found Rainbow, and I know that being a part of this awesome community will be a powerfully positive experience in my kiddo’s life. Thank you so much for all you do!

"Both of my daughters loved Rainbow. The love & care they received from the teachers was amazing not to mention all the fun & learning that they did too. From planting veggies in the garden to the Holiday performances & singing in circle time to playing with friends. Rainbow truly does offer it all. We miss it still."

"My son counts the days until he gets to go back to Rainbow. The atmosphere is relaxed and loving, flexible and child-centered. Rainbow also has so much more room than other preschools we looked at."

"It is remarkable how my twins have blossomed under Rainbow's nurturing child care program. They love the art, music, learning, friendship, and fun offered here!"
