The following flow charts are not for CONFIRMED CASES OF COVID-19 but rather, they are our guidance for positive symptoms from screening for COVID-19.
These are our most current guideline for screening.
Dear Families,
During this time, we are taking extraordinary precautions to reduce the risk of illness. These extra steps are designed to support the health and safety of your children, your family, and our staff.
Please take note of the following changes to our policies and procedures:
Check-In and Pick-Up
Health Station pick-up and drop-off will continue according to our plan.
We will be limiting the number of people allowed in the center.
Healthy Environment
Daily health check screenings will continue with children and staff.
Children and staff will be required to wash their hands immediately upon entering the building, as needed throughout the day, and upon leaving.
Staff will disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, light switches, faucets, toys, and games that children play with at least once daily.
No program tours will be given during hours of operation until further notice.
Meal Preparation & Service
All surfaces will be disinfected before meal preparation and feedings using CDC and EPA approved products.
All staff will wash hands before and after meal preparation and feeding.
Each child’s meal will be plated and served by staff, instead of served family-style.
Child Health
Staff will receive education on COVID-19 symptoms as well as preventive measures.
Children who start to experience symptoms of illness, including a fever of
100.4°F or greater while at the center, will be isolated from other children until they can be picked up.
Staff Health & Wellness
Staff has received additional training on infection control and workplace disinfection.
Staff who start to experience symptoms of illness, including a fever of 100.4°F or greater while working, will be sent home immediately.
Staff will not be allowed to work if they are feeling ill, experiencing any illness symptoms or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
We have been working closely with Child Health Connection for consultation and guidance surrounding these measures. They are happy to report they have not seen any major outbreaks among their 400+ centers along the Front Range. It seems the measures taken by child care centers, as directed by local and state health departments and the CDC, are working. At this time there are no major concerns with your child returning back to group care.
Please contact us with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to seeing your children again and bringing back some routine and normalcy to their lives.
Sincerely, Rainbow Staff and Board of Directors
